Julie Melton, President
Julie Melton is a retired school teacher and environmental educator. She has been a supporter of MQI projects in Vietnam for many years. Her special interests include children and healthy environments in which they can grow and thrive.
Tamara Helfer, Secretary
Tamara Helfer is a former research astronomer, science educator, and program developer. She founded Growing Healthy Kids, a California-based organization that uses school gardens and other outdoor spaces to integrate excellence in academics with physical and mental wellness. She is a
UW-Madison graduate and a long-time supporter of MQI Projects in Vietnam.
Bruce Walbum, Vice President
Bruce worked as a sales and marketing professional in the energy management sector. Bruce served on Occupy Madison village’s board of directors helping to build one of the first tiny home villages for people experiencing homelessness. He has volunteered with Big Brothers – Big Sisters, and American Red Cross.
Jim Huberty, Treasurer
Jim Huberty has earned both BA and MS degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently working in Office Management and Accounting in Middleton, and enjoys tutoring middle and high school students. Jim is also an advocate for NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness).
Norman Stockwell, Member at Large
Norman Stockwell is publisher of The Progressive Magazine. He served as WORT Community Radio’s Operations Coordinator in Madison, Wisconsin for over 20 years.
Norm has assisted MQI in its work from the earliest years, and twice visited and documented the projects in Vietnam.
